SNOWY SCENES IN ZURICH
In London, it rarely snows on Christmas Day. So December is the perfect time to visit Zurich if, like me, you adore classic Christmas scenes: lakes, mountains and beautiful buildings; all clasically and elegantly decorated.
Waking up one morning to large gentle flakes of snow pouring out of a blanket of white sky, covering every inch of the city and greenery surrounding Lake Zurich, is a dream come true! So, whilst many stay indoors, wrapped up warm with a hot drink, I wrap up warm eager to step outside, play and explore.
It’s perfect to capture some of the most beautiful images I have ever taken of winter and snow over serene landscapes. The essence of Christmas …
Lake Zurich is full of swans. This solo swan is unafraid to approach me in the hope of food.
The misty atmosphere creates a mood that’s secretive and inviting…almost Narnia-like.
Oases along Zurichsee
This is one of my favourite museums in Zurich. The striking property alone warrants a gander, particularly as a winter fairytale. Outside, a stall selling roasted chestnuts provides much-needed warmth.
Zurich city centre is picturesque with colourful buildings, cobbled narrow streets and dramatic river and mountain backdrop.
In case you aren’t yet feeling festive or feeling warm for snow, here’s a final photograph for good measure…
